UPS

What is UPS?

An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is a device that provides electricity in case of power failures in devices or installations where power failure could cause data loss, damage systems or cause other problems.
A UPS is protecting the connected devices or machines of the following problems:
1. Power Failure: could damage the equipment. By using a UPS system the device or the facility continues the operation with no pausing.
2. Overvoltage:. Also, may cause failures and damage to electronic equipment or even in the whole installation.
3. Under voltage: May cause data loss in computers and light flicker, also low voltage can lead to malfunctions or overheating of some devices causing damage.
4. Peak: High voltage may cause damage to electronic equipment or lamps
Using a UPS System your equipment is protected when power fails and it provides protection from power surges.

Some applications of UPS systems are in computers, data centers, telecommunication sector, banks, hospitals, factories also in the army, in shipping, in stadiums and wherever there is a need for uninterrupted power supply.

According the requirements of each device or installations the UPS has to be selected in terms of power and characteristics. The selection of a UPS is considered upon several factors, including:

1. The kind of application (for example domestic use, industrial use, Infrastructure Data Centers etc.).
2. The number, type and criticality of the loads of the installation.
3. The autonomy of the system is required in case of power failure.
4. The desired system performance and the wider technical features required.

UPS Line Interactive

-What is Line Interactive UPS?

UPS Line Interactive is a reliable, qualitative and economical solution to protect and provide uninterrupted supply to the loads.

-How Line Interactive UPS works?

UPS VI (Voltage Independent)
With this technology known as line interactive technology, the variations of the supply voltage are stabilized by means of adjusting devices keeping them within the limits of normal operation.
In normal operating mode, the load is powered from the mains through an AVR (Auto Voltage Regulator) circuit. This device corrects voltage variations within its capacity for regulation, returning the voltage to its default values. When the variations in the power supply are not within the capacity for regulation of the AVR circuit, the inverter intervenes and through the stored energy in its batteries it ensures the continuity and quality of the power supply. The transition from stabilised mains to inverter supply takes place in about 2-6 ms and the voltage generated by the inverter can be of a sinusoidal type or stepwave (square-wave) type depending on the UPS model.

UPS Double Conversion or On Line UPS

-What is Double Conversion or On Line UPS?

On Line UPS provides maximum level of security and uninterrupted power supply and is the ideal solution for any kind of load such us electrical, electronic, and electromechanical installations. On Line UPS is recommended also for support of computer networks, Data centers and in general facilities with high requirements in terms of protection and electricity supply.

-How Double Conversion or On Line UPS works;

UPS VFI (Voltage and Frequency Independent)
With this technology known as double conversion technology, the UPS output is independent from the supply voltage and the frequency variations are controlled within the limits prescribed by the standard.
In normal operating mode, the load is powered by the combination of rectifier/ inverter. When the AC input supply is not within the voltage and frequency tolerances, the unit enters into battery mode operation where the battery/inverter combination continues to power the load for as long as its power lasts, or until the AC input power returns within the required tolerances. The intervention time for battery operation is instantaneous (0 ms). If the rectifier/inverter fails or in the event of an overload, either in the permanent or transition mode, the unit goes into bypass mode (0 ms), where the load is temporarily supplied via the reserve line.
